Winter skies, creative minds

The Ferries are due to shut down for a planned disruption to refit the docks as of the last sailing tomorrow, October 22nd.   For the next few weeks the only way to leave the island will be via water taxi from Fords Cove.   We have already had two power outages and it seems winter is making an early appearance.  What does that mean to Hornbyites?  Time to let the creative juices start perculating!

Revisiting a muse, discovering new and exciting forms in which to express a vision or diving deep into an already developed process – it is still early days in which to know where the isolation and calm of a Hornby winter could take you.

So we look ahead and wonder at what Hornby’s amazing creative community will unveil next spring.   To that end, the Arts Council is now inviting Hornby Artists to submit letters of interest for mounting a show during the 2012 season.  Drop it off in our Freepost box or email:

On another note, the Arts Council Artist Resource Centre will be open one day a week throughout the winter.  Currently it will be Tuesdays, 11am to 3pm, but please call ahead to confirm as any changes will be announced on our answering machine at 250-335-2070.
